Sylvia Rhodes, MSW, LCSW
I work with clients from diverse backgrounds, ages 16 and older, with a focus on college students. My clinical skills were refined while working with adolescents in the school setting and with adults in a crisis stabilization facility. These experiences have given me a keen sense of how to help people across the lifespan and care level.
I use a blend of treatment modalities but draw primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and EMDR to address issues of anxiety, PTSD, depression, low self-esteem, stress, life transitions, and relationship difficulties.
In order for you to do the work of healing, I do my absolute best to tailor each session to your unique needs and goals, and to create an environment of authenticity, security, warmth, and compassion. Ultimately, my desire is for you to feel seen, safe, loved, and supported as you pursue what’s important to you.
Born and raised in the natural beauty of the Shenandoah Valley, I love being outdoors and can often be found on a walk with my golden retriever, conversing around a campfire, or hiking one of the many trails in the mountains.
Sylvia accepts most Aetna, Anthem/BCBS, and Cigna plans.
Sylvia is available 5pm-7pm on Mondays and 1pm-7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
